Wow…If there was ever a knockout to propel Francis Ngannou into a title fight, this was it. Alistair Overeem nearly snapped in half from this punch and went stiff as a board…
UFC 218 went down in Detroit, Michigan last night and it was amazing! Featuring a star-studded card, UFC 218 was headlined by the featherweight title rematch between Max Holloway and Jose Aldo.
Having finished ‘Scarface’ to claim the belt at UFC 212, ‘Blessed’ already had the mental edge. Aldo, although once the greatest featherweight on the planet, just did not look the same as he once did.
Holloway scored his second TKO win over the Brazilian, cementing his status as the top 145-pounder. Also extending his record-breaking winning streak, it would appear the scrappy Hawaiian is here to stay.
And then we have Alistair Overeem vs. Franci Ngannou. Former K-1 champion ‘The Reem’ was hoping to get a rematch with Stipe Miocic, and Ngannou wanted to break through as the top contender.

Ngannou Arrives in Brutal Fashion
Obviously, there have been questions about Overeem’s chin many times before. Although he’s experienced more finishes than a truck stop floozy, the Dutchman’s experience in striking had many people putting money down.
Turns out, raw power can smash right through wile, and ‘The Predator’ basically demolished ‘The Demolition Man.’
If you can stomach it, the harrowing finish is on the Twitter video player below:

BAH GAWD!
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, was a seriously massive knockout. Stipe Micoic, wherever he is right now, knows Ngannou is a serious threat. Meanwhile, in the lightweight clash between Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethjae, fans were very entertained.
Both known as brawlers, the two got to work doing their best impression of rock ’em sock ’em robots. Seriously fun to watch, and back-and-forth, it was Alvarez who got the TKO win in the dying embers of round three.
Elsewhere on the card, notorious loud mouth, snitching, bullying pile of human garbage Angela Magana got smoked by Amanda Cooper. As soon as we get the time, we’ll edit that stoppage on a 10-hour loop for you guys.
Anyway, here’s the full UFC 218 results, stay tuned for more UFC highlights etc, GFY!
