UFC Commentator Joe Rogan Show Off His Power at the UFC Performance Institute…
Joe Rogan is one of the recognizable faces associated with the UFC. The professional comedian, who also has a massive online following, is one the UFC’s longest-serving commentators. His opinions are usually insightful and respected by both fighters and fans alike.
However, the 50-year-old is also a trained martial artist. He started off with Taekwondo, achieving the rank of black belt. Then in the 90s, he moved onto jiu-jitsu, training under Carlson Gracie. He has black belts in Eddie Bravo’s no-gi style, 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, and also in conventional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, having trained with Jean Jacques Machado.
Rogan is a shameless fitness fanatic. For his age, he is in phenomenal shape. He’s recently proved that he still has the power to mix it with the big boys. In a video clip, taken at the UFC Performance Centre in Las Vegas, the American proved that he can kick harder than Francis Ngannou can punch.

Not Kidding
Why is that such a big deal? Well, Ngannou is the man with the world’s strongest punch after all, with a ludicrous score of 129,000 on a machine specially designed to gauge the power of the world’s most violent combat stars. That terrifying result added to Ngannou’s fear factor during his recent rise.
The Cameroonian came to prominence after the most violent KO of 2018, when he sent Alistair Overeem into outer space, with a crazy uppercut. He then took on Stipe Miocic in a title fight. Although he lost to the heavyweight champion, he still commands respect as one of the most dangerous strikers on the entire roster of the UFC.

Crazy Result
The fact that Rogan managed to beat the score of a trained and deadly heavyweight like Ngannou, even with a kick, shows that the comedian isn’t someone to be laughed at lightly. He told The Joe Rogan Experience:
“I think Ngannou got 120-something. 129, that’s so crazy! That’s what I get with a kick – with legs that carry you around all day. He got 129,161 with a punch. I got 152,000 today, bitch!”
Rogan’s comments were tongue in cheek of course. If Ngannou tried kicking, he’d probably open a portal into another universe. However, it just goes to show you that Rogan’s skills are legitimate and that his skills are definitely not to be sniffed at.

Experienced
Rogan used to compete competitively in Taekwon-do. There are videos of him on Youtube, where he is shown teaching UFC legend George St. Pierre, the best way to generate power from his kicks. He is respected. It’s only a pity that he isn’t 20 years younger because his martial arts background and personality fit that of an MMA fighter.
Instead, the next time we see Rogan in UFC action will be next month when he commentates the UFC 223 event in Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center. He’ll get to call one of the most eagerly anticipated title fights of 2018 when Khabib Nurmagamedov takes on Tony Ferguson for the lightweight title.
