The UFC made it’s debut in Hidalgo, Texas last night, and what a crazy event it was. Fronting the UFC Fight Night 94 card was a lightweight bout between Michael Johnson and Dustin Poirier.
Providing an interesting back story was their heated confrontation at the weigh-ins. Poirier and Johnson got up close and personal in Texas, when it came to the fight night tensions were very high.
Weigh-Ins Spat
‘Diamond’ got right in Johnson’s face at the weigh-ins, even appearing to attempt an eye poke on ‘The Menace.’ The fight didn’t go Poirier’s way at all though. Many expected Johnson to lose his third straight fight, but he rescued his UFC career in epic fashion.
Just minutes in to the third round and Poirier was flapping like a fish out of water. A crispy two-piece combo sent ‘Diamond’ to the canvas and it was over in an instant. Check out the referee’s shoe coming off at the same time.

Aftermath
An excited Johnson (LOL) took to the microphone to blast his old rival Nate Diaz after the fight. Diaz had taken a decision win against ‘The Menace’ in late 2015. Last night was the first time Johnson had fought since losing to Diaz.
“I’m just coming in here just showing people that I’m serious in this division. Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz getting paid that money and they’re out here scrapping and having a sparring match,” Johnson shouted. “I come to finish fights. I come for the kill. Pay me, baby, what’s up?”
The Joe Rogan Bit
UFC color commentator Joe Rogan gave way to Jon Anik at last night’s event. As a result, fans of Rogan were left wanting for his classic live reactions. The longtime MMA analyst and commentator was watching though.
Thankfully we’ve got the segment in question for you to watch, and it was VINTAGE Joe Rogan…
