One of the most uplifting stories of 2016 so far was when Nate Diaz stepped in to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 196. The Irish star was originally meant to fight Rafael dos Anjos at the March 5 event.
When Diaz replaced RDA on just 11 days notice, the fight took a whole different turn. The trash talk was incredible, and even though they fought at welterweight with no title on the line, there was a lot of pride at stake.

The result
The result was an astonishing fight, way more exciting than even the most avid fans had expected. A back-and-forth dramatic war that ended in the second round. Diaz had his hand raised in victory, becoming a superstar in the time since.
‘The Notorious’ demanded an immediate rematch. After being booked to fight again at UFC 200, there was some unexpected beef between McGregor and the UFC, and finally they were rescheduled for UFC 202 on August 20.

So how has Nate Diaz been making use of his time? In an odd twist, the Stockton brawler has been the one making celebrity appearances this time around. McGregor seems to be the one focusing hard in training and spending less time on talk shows.
