7. Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard
The 1st time these two met was at UFC Fight Night 13 when both were still undefeated. Maynard would earn a decision victory that night. The next time they would meet would be for the UFC lightweight title, which was held by Edgar. This was Edgar’s attempt to avenge the only loss on his record after he put away BJ Penn once to win the title and again to defend it.
Maynard looked to have the fight won early but Edgar battled back to win a draw on a judge’s decision. If you haven’t seen this fight it is well worth your time to check it out.
Edgar would knock Maynard out in the 3rd fight at UFC 136, the only conclusive victory of the trilogy.
