Could it be anybody else? The Brazilian is the UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion and has beaten every female champion in the history of the two divisions. That’s Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg and Germaine De Randamie. She’s also got two decision wins over Valentina Shevchenko for good measure.

She’s just in a different class. Nunes has ferocious power that few women can cope with. The way she disposed of Cris Cyborg was one of the most astonishing moments in MMA history. It’s just a pity that we probably won’t get to see it again. Perhaps she’s not as technically proficient as Shevchenko, but she doesn’t have to be. And those two belts on her shoulders prove it.
