Will Brooks

Brooks first made a name for himself in the Bellator promotion. He won their season 9 lightweight tournament and then the interim title in his next fight against one of the company’s biggest stars, Michael Chandler. A TKO victory in their immediate rematch solidified Brooks as the divisional kingpin. He’d go on to notch up two more successful defenses of the belt, taking his overall record to 17-1. He made a brave decision to vacate the belt and sign with the UFC.

The move initially seemed justified when he defeated Ross Pearson in his promotional debut. However, a TKO defeat followed against Alex Oliveira. Things only got worse from there as Charles Oliveira submitted him in the first round. Then Nik Lentz stopped him with a guillotine choke. Just two years after giving up the Bellator title, Brooks’ run in the UFC was already. He’s since been left contending in smaller promotions like the PFL and most recently Battlefield FC.
