Polina Kobzeva
Polina Kobzeva passed away the tender age of 19 of cardiac arrest on August 31st, just days before she was due to make her professional MMA debut.
Kobzeva was reported to have been a soccer player, but also competed in MMA and had put together a 2-1 run as an amateur in 2018.
Kobzeva was then set to make her pro debut at an EEF event on September 5th, and had been training after a two month absence when the tragedy struck in the gym.
“This afternoon our team suffered great grief – Polina Kobzeva died, her heart collapsed,” the Podolchanka team wrote on Russian social media site VKontakt.
