The UFC Interim Lightweight Champion has Responded to Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz and He is Not Impressed…
Tony Ferguson has had a very rough week. The UFC interim lightweight champion was due to take on Khabib Nurmagamedov on Saturday, but that’s off the cards now. The Californian tore his lateral collateral ligament and will need at least six months to get back to full fitness.
It’s a massive blow for ‘El Cucuy’. Not only is he missing out on the opportunity to take on the most feared opponent in the lightweight division, and to claim the official title, he is also going to be stripped of his interim title.
To add insult to injury, the LCL tear happened at a UFC interview, when he tripped over a bag. He’s not impressed with the company’s lack of sympathy, considering happened on their time. The likes of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have been incredibly unsympathetic on Twitter. Ferguson has finally responded to the gruesome twosome.

Not Having It
It is worth mentioning that McGregor and Diaz have not fought for a combined 1098 days. McGregor has broken the record for most days passed without a title defense. Meanwhile, Diaz just seems to be at home smoking joints. However, both men are expected to return this year and have been very active on social media.
McGregor initially tweeted, “These guys pull out more times than I do with my dick”. This obviously didn’t sit well with Ferguson, who is an incredibly active fighter and is currently on a ten fight win streak. Ferguson has finally replied to McGregor. He tweeted:
“Can’t pull out if you never fight McNuggets – Stay in your lane McDucker, Good job staying ready”.

Diaz Time
Nate Diaz was next on Ferguson’s hit list. The Stockton, California native is a fan favorite for his casual laid back personality. He entered the big time after a pair of fights against McGregor, the first of which he shocked the world by winning on short notice.
The second fight was extremely close and he lost by decision. That was his most recent octagon appearance, way back in August 2016. Ferguson was happy to remind Diaz about this on Twitter when he responded:
“Stay in your lane Nathan. Last time I checked you ducked the whole roster. Can’t fight in a war if you never sign up for battle.”

Still Fighting
Say what you like about Ferguson, the man definitely has the fighting spirit. It’s too early to say when he will be back, but suddenly another option is open. Tony Ferguson vs Nate Diaz anybody? The pair has somehow never fought, and it would totally make sense as a high-level comeback fight for both men.
Meanwhile, McGregor is expected to return by around October of this year. Many are expecting him to appear at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, for UFC 223, because his teammate, Artem Lobov, is also fighting on the card. It’s very likely that the Irishman will be taking on the winner of Khabib vs Holloway. Exciting times are ahead.
