Dana White Speech
Despite having admitted that he’s “not a political guy, not one little bit,” Dana White accepted an offer from presidential candidate Donald Trump to speak on his behalf at the Republican National Convention in 2016.
At the time Trump was having trouble finding high-profile members of his own party to speak at the RNC and so he was looking further afield, bringing in friends, family and minor celebrities to stump for him, which included the likes of Happy Day’s Scott Baio, Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson and General Hospital’s Antonio Sobato Jr.
White’s speech was easily the most bombastic of the evening.
“Let me tell you something: I have been in the fight business my whole life. I know fighters,” White yelled during his speech.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump is a fighter! And I know Donald Trump will fight for this country!”
Asked later to explain why he’d agreed to speak when so many others had shyed away from doing so, White told TMZ, “I’m a loyal person, man, and people who have been good to me in my life, I don’t forget and I stand by them.”
