Leslie Smith
Smith is known for being a tough, gritty competitor in the cage for promotions like the UFC, Bellator and Invicta FC, while she’s also made headlines for attempting to unionize UFC fighters as the President of the ‘Project Spearhead’ initiative. However, ‘The Peacemaker’ has also shown a far less serious side to her personality by performing as a stand-up comedian.
Smith signed up to do a set at an open-mic night at a club in Oakland after spending “a long time” gathering up enough material for her six-minute spot. Smith said afterward that she’d had a great time up on stage and was looking forward to doing it again in the future.
Adam Hunter then offered Smith the chance to open for him at his next gig in Las Vegas hearing her perform one of her bits on his podcast, The excited fighter agreed, but cautiously added, “I’d better do a lot of open-mic’s between now and then!” Smith continued to do sets up until 2018 but admits to being depressed after being released by the UFC, which led to her stopping the comedy gigs. She’s since re-focused on her MMA career in the Bellator promotion.
