#2 McGregor vs Diaz II
Conor McGregor took his first loss like a man and got right back on the horse. That’s all you could really ask from a consummate professional.
In the rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202, McGregor proved he could learn from his mistakes and make the adjustments to win.
McGregor looked like a beast in there against Diaz, dropping the Stockton, CA stalwart with left hands in the opening round. When Diaz finally came on in the middle of the bout, McGregor kept his composure.
From then on, McGregor did what he had to do to get the win. He fought intelligently and didn’t make the same mistakes he made in the first fight.
Unfortunately, welterweight just isn’t the right division for McGregor, no matter what he says. McGregor has always been an advocate of the open-weight format. He says that true fighting has no weight classes.
But there’s no denying the fighters at welterweight are just way too big for a guy who just won the featherweight title less than a year ago.
