#2 Randy “The Natural” Couture

Randy Couture is an MMA legend, and he is called “Captain America” for a reason. During his tenure in the UFC, Couture became a three-time UFC heavyweight champion. Two-time UFC light heavyweight titleholder. An interim UFC light heavyweight champion and the UFC 13 heavyweight tournament winner.

Moreover, he is the only person over the age of 40 to have won a UFC championship fight, having done so four times. Couture has also been one of the few MMA champions to have recovered a title he had previously lost. And he is the only fighter to have achieved it three times.

His last fight with Lyoto Machida in April 2011 marked his 24th fight in the UFC, the tenth largest number of fights in the promotion. But his exit in the sport did not have a storybook ending.

Machida knocked him out in the second round with a jumping front kick. After the fight, Couture announced that he was “finally done fighting” at the age of 47.

Couture is still involved with MMA, but not with the UFC. He signed with Bellator to be a coach in the first season of their reality show, Fight Master: Bellator MMA. The show debuted in June of 2013. Couture also did commentary for Bellator 96.
