Christian Daghio

49 year-old muay thai, boxing and MMA fighter Christian Daghio tragically died as the result of a KO suffered in a boxing bout in Thailand on October 26th.

Daghio was in the 12th round of a vacant WBA Asia light-heavyweight title fight against Don Parueang when he was floored by punches and then soon after getting back to his feet was brutally knocked out.

Daghio was rushed to hospital and remained in a coma until a week later on November 2nd when he was officially declared dead.

Daghio’s long career in combat sports had included over 200 fights, with the vast majority coming in Muay Thai, where he was a six-time champion, in addition to dozens of boxing fights and a 3-2 MMA record.

“Christian died as he wanted to die, that is in the ring,” Dhagio’s brother stated after his passing. “He dreamt of fighting until he was 80 years old.”

The fallen fighter leaves behind his wife and five-year old daughter.
