Fans might need to wait a little bit longer for the featherweight title fight since the UFC just booked Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega as coaches for the Ultimate Fighter TV series.

They were originally scheduled to co-main UFC 260 but Volkanovski had to pull out due to testing positive for COVID. It is certainly unfortunate that the featherweight division will be delayed a little bit but the champ’s health is of top priority. Even if fans say that Holloway won the second fight, but at the end of the day the judges scored it to Volkanovski.

Alexander Volkanovski tests positive for COVID, fight against Ortega postponed

There were lot of candidates that UFC wanted to coach for TUF like Masvidal vs Covington was probably what most fans wanted due to their bad blood. Although it was not booked, Volkanovski vs Ortega is still a great fight to make and will show how great their training camp is.

Volkanovski’s team, City Kickboxing is known for their great feints which made Adesanya one of the best strikers in the game. Volkanovski is known for his relentless pressure as well that is even on par with Max Holloway.

In Ortega’s side, he may have one of the best ground game in the division. After suffering a brutal beating against Holloway, he took time away from the sport to recover. He then returned with an evolve striking that dominated Chan Sung Jung. Ortega delivered one of his most impressive performance of his MMA career.

Stylistically, it will be an interesting fight and fans will curious be curious on how the fight will play out. Whoever wins the fight will likely fight Max Holloway just because Holloway gave Ortega a brutal beating just a few fights ago and the second match against Volkanovski was controversial.

Holloway is coming off in one of the most dominating performance against Calvin Katter. He showed he was in the matrix and seems like he keeps on improving despite being a former champion. As Holloway would say “I’m the cloud hanging over that fight”.

The TUF TV Series is one of the key things to UFC’s history. It basically saved them from closing down. The fight between Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar was probably the most important fight in UFC history. It put the UFC on everyone’s radar.
