Two talented heavyweights are going to headline UFC Fight Night on June 26. When we speak of heavyweights, we likely think of POWER due to their size but for this fight we might see two fighters who would rather fight technically rather than swing haymakers.

The winner of the fight will surely be in title contention. Both fighters are coming off an impressive win against high ranked opponents. Although Gane is undefeated, Dana White was not impressed with his last performance against Jairzinho Rozenstruik due to the lackluster fight. White said that Ngannou dusted him out early while Gane cruised to a boring decision.

As for Volkov, he has had ups and downs in his UFC career but right now he is riding on a two fight win streak. He has beaten former champion, Fabricio Werdum and a lot of other tough guys but he has yet to get a title shot. It may be because of his tough losses from guys like Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes.

In his last outing, he had a knockout win against Overeem. It was sad for the Overeem fans to see him go out like that but props to Volkov for getting the job done. It was tough to watch but there is no question that new heavyweight breeds are now on a rise.

Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov are currently ranked three and four respectively so there is a high chance that a win might give them a title shot or they may need just one more if the UFC decides to give Jones and Lewis a shot first. It usually depends on how well they performed, if they land a jaw dropping knockout then it is very likely.

As far the stylistically, both fighters come from a kickboxing background and their striking is more technical compared to other heavyweights. Gane is also well rounded and his defense is great and has a deadly submission game as well.

As for Volkov, he is probably the tallest active fighter right now and he uses his range pretty well so it could pose a problem to Gane.

Gane is also under Fernand Lopez the former trainer of the current champion, Francis Ngannou. It will be exciting to see if Gane gets past Volkov and will fight Ngannou. The history and storyline will be a great market for the UFC as well.
