Not the best fight to make right now, but it is still the legacy fight that people will watch at the end of the day. We all know that Ngannou vs Jones would be the biggest fight to make in the heavyweight division right now, but due to some negotiation issues we might see Jones fight for the belt for now.

According to reports, UFC is looking to book Ngannou vs Lewis 2 for summer and the fight is close to becoming official while the Jones vs Miocic is not even close to happening yet. They are simply working on making the LHW GOAT vs HW GOAT, though the hype may have been bigger if it was before Miocic’s loss to Ngannou.
It is still a massive fight to make and it will gauge on how good Jones is at heavyweight, will he still dominate like in his light-heavyweight run, or will fighting guys bigger than him be too much for him. Stipe Miocic is no easy opponent, as he was able to beat Ngannou and Cormier.

Jones may have beaten Cormier at Light-heavyweight but it is worth noting that Cormier was a natural heavyweight when he started his MMA run. It was refusing to fight his teammate Cain Velasquez that made him move down.

It would also make sense since Miocic also deserves to fight for the heavyweight title again since he is 1-1 against Ngannou. The question would be, is Jones willing to fight Miocic despite no title on the line. Jones has a bigger risk since if he loses, he might not fight for the title next and if he wins, he would still not be the champion.
