Michael Chandler doesn’t want to wait any longer to face Conor McGregor. As such, after the Irish teased about the possibility of having a spot at UFC 300, Chandler made his latest demand for McGregor to make it happen.
Before the New Year, McGregor announced that he would face June 29 in Las Vegas in a 185-pound bout. UFC CEO Dana White, however, denied the claim, reminding the media that the company is making official announcements it is preparing. After this, McGregor, who is known for making bluff statements, hinted at the possibility of entering UFC 300. Although “The Notorious” didn’t mention Chandler in his post, the 37-year-old quickly responded to own the spot against McGregor.
In a recent interview, Chandler admitted that the long break to wait for McGregor has been benefitting him, noting it allows him to spend more time with his family. The “Iron” believes it will soon pay off when he faces McGregor in the cage, but everything has its limits, and Chandler’s patience is wearing thin. However, instead of targeting the promotion that has the final say in the fight bookings, Chandler is interestingly putting pressure on McGregor, who is as determined as him to get back into the cage as soon as possible.
In his recent post, the No. 5-ranked lightweight fighter asked McGregor to “get off the yacht,” referring to past reports of the Irish lavishly spending his break doing parties in yachts.
“I get it. He’s coming off an injury, so that said, now that @TheNotoriousMMA is healthy…the question is, why wouldn’t it be #ufc300 ? It’s been 2.5 years… Get off the yacht kid…”
