I think it is important to keep in mind that Mark Coleman is a 41-year old man at the time this brawl goes down.
At Pride 31 it was Mark Coleman, having recently dropped down to light heavyweight, against Shogun Rua, who was riding an 8-fight win streak in Pride. For Coleman, at 41 he was just trying to ride his career as long as possible, but possibly was also fighting to get another shot at Fedor Emelianenko, who had defeated him almost 2 years earlier.
The fight ended when Coleman landed a takedown on Rua that dislocated Shogun’s elbow when he landed on his arm. As Rua is screaming on the mat, his brother Murila Rua runs in to check on him, which Coleman seemed to take issue with and a heated back and forth ensued. Then everyone’s testosterone kicked up a notch and Coleman’s camp went to war with the Chute Box team.
