Bookies Are Releasing Their Betting Lines for Potential UFC Fight Between Mayweather and McGregor…
It’s the potential rematch we can’t stop talking about. Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Jr, but this time in a UFC octagon. The lightweight champion first took on the richest athlete in August last year. Mayweather won that match convincingly, beating the Irishman by TKO in round 10 of 12.
However, both fighters walked away from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a cool $100 million each. So you can see why they would want to do it again. A rematch has been mooted and a will – they-won’t they narrative has been back and forth throughout the media since last November.
The story is getting so hot that a Casino in America has actually released its potential odds for the fight. Despite winning the boxing match against McGregor in dominant style, Mayweather is expected to be a massive underdog if he crosses over to MMA to do what McGregor calls ‘real fighting’.

Crazy Match-Up
A lot of people are sick and tired of reading stories about a potential fight between the two biggest personalities in combat sports. However, it all keeps escalating. As ludicrous as it might be on paper for the 41-year-old Mayweather to even contemplate stepping into an octagon, he seems deadly serious.
He’s released a string of videos of him training with MMA style 4oz gloves and entering cages. He’s also trolled Conor McGregor with a fan-made picture of him elbowing the ‘Notorious’ across the face. UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley says that he is training Mayweather in grappling right now.
Add to this the fact that Mayweather is planning on applying for his professional MMA license in the near future, and you can see why this story is gathering legs. He’s come out of retirement before, but this would be the most sensational return to competitive action we’ve ever seen.

Wild Odds
Now that it has entered the realms of possibility, betting lines have been released. Westgate and Bovada have both installed Conor McGregor as their overwhelming favorite to win a potential MMA fight between the two men.
Westgate installed McGregor as a -1000 favorite, with Mayweather, a massive underdog, at +650. Basically, this means that you have to bet $10 to win $1 off McGregor. However, a winning $10 on Mayweather would get you $65.
Meanwhile, Bovada has installed McGregor as a -900 favorite. The fact that the Irishman is so heavily favored by the bookies just shows you how crazy it would be if Mayweather took this fight. UFC commentator Joe Rogan has said that whatever odds they put on Mayweather to win, they won’t be enough.

Other Options
However, there’s also the possibility that Mayweather fights somebody other than Conor McGregor. Sure, it wouldn’t be as sensational a story, but arguably it would be more intriguing to see ‘Money’ take on Phil Brooks, AKA CM Punk. The former WWE wrestler has a single defeat in the UFC and has the limited ability and big-name value to make it viable.
Meanwhile, McGregor is expected to face the winner of Khabib Nurmagamedov vs Tony Ferguson. The pair is booked to fight it out for McGregor’s undefended lightweight title. The Irishman will be stripped as soon as we have a victor. However, he’ll be given the chance to win his belt back as soon as he returns.
