Early morning on August 8, 2014, UFC and Bellator veteran Jon Koppenhaver lost his mind…
During a terrifying attack on his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack, UFC veteran ‘War Machine’ allegedly committed some brutal crimes. The story didn’t start that night in 2014, in fact it stretches back many years.
Having already served multiple stints in prison, Machine was no stranger to crime. Koppenhaver had been behind bars for assaults in the past, but none were as brutal or sinister as his latest alleged crime.
Machine Faces Attempted Murder Charge
Finding his ex-girlfriend Christy Mackland with a man named Corey Thomas, Koppenhaver unleashed all hell. Considering he was a professional mixed martial artist with a 14-5 record, you can all imagine what chance Thomas and Mack stood.
The grizzly details that were first released included alleged threats on Mack and Thomas’ lives. Machine went on the run, later running in to police after a media frenzy-filled seven days.
This was the harrowing picture that accompanied those stories:
Machine’s Handy Work
Obviously this controversial news captured the attention of millions worldwide. Koppenhaver has always been a troubled individual, made clear during his infamous Twitter diaries while in prison circa 2010.
Serving time for a bar fight, Machine spewed homophobic slurs and claimed he was joining a ‘men’s rights’ group. Confusing as it was, few expected Machine’s dark persona to become this dangerous.
During yesterday’s trial, the truly dark story of what happened in 2014 was laid out. Originally scheduled to take placelast week, the hearing was postponed. Machine’s lawyer claimed there was new evidence to support his not guilty plea.
The guy’s a total piece of shit. He belongs in a cage for life. And not an MMA cage. If that was my sister the mother fucker would be dead.
