After UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor went five gruelling rounds with Nate Diaz more than a week ago, fans were enamoured with just how close and entertaining the fight was.

The action was truly intense and had everyone watching on the edge of their seats, observing the exchanges carefully and determining the winner in their minds prior to the decision being read.

From the side of the cage, Kavanagh dissected the fight second by second as the battle inside the Octagon trudged on. Each movement made inside that cage was carefully analysed so that the proper adjustments could be made between rounds.

In a column written by Kavanagh himself, the coach explains exactly what he thought of the action that transpired, why he’s convinced McGregor won the third round and why he’s baffled Diaz got a gift 10-8 score in that round.
