Cris Cyborg believes a fight against Kayla Harrison makes more sense. As such, despite PFL’s plan to make Larissa Pacheco her next opponent, the Bellator champ is determined to push the Cyborg vs. Harrison first.

Cyborg’s interest in fighting Harrison is not news, as the two have been in a feud for years now. Fortunately, after the PFL officially acquired Bellator, the chance of the two entering the cage soon is no longer impossible. Yet, Pacheco entered the scene recently after snatching the 2023 PFL women’s featherweight belt by defeating Marina Mokhnatkina via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46). After that, with Harrison no longer a champ, the promotion announced its plan to put Cyborg against Pacheco first.

Cyborg, however, revealed recently that PFL called her in December and offered a fight against Harrison, which she accepted. Yet, the two failed to enter the PFL vs. Bellator event lineup in February, with Cyborg blaming Harrison for the fight not materializing. Despite this and the PFL not confirming the claim, the 38-year-old is determined to pursue the Cyborg vs. Harrison before facing Pacheco.

“I don’t have any problem fighting Larissa Pacheco, she’s the champion, but we’ve been promoting this fight against Kayla Harrison for three years,” Cyborg told MMA Junkie. “You can use the opportunity after this fight to promote for Larissa.

“I think everyone is waiting for me and Kayla Harrison. But I don’t have any problem fighting Larissa, but I believe you have to start promoting this fight. First is Kayla Harrison.”
