Following an insane night of fights in Las Vegas, there’s tons to discuss today. UFC 207 went off with a bang, and the big talking point comes from the main event. Having sat out for a year, Ronda Rousey’s big comeback didn’t quite go as planned.
Facing the current champion Amanda Nunes, Rousey had blocked out the MMA media the entire year. Arguably one of the most outspoken fighters in UFC history before, Rousey was completely silent before UFC 207.
Battered
Without being to derogatory, Ronda Rousey was simply not there at UFC 207. Seeing how she used to steamroll her opponents, her performance against Nunes was way below sub-par.
Looking lost in the striking, ‘Rowdy’ was picked apart at Nunes’ will. The Brazilian showed no mercy or relent in her attack, making sure she put away the former champion quickly. Just 48 seconds after the octagon door closed, it swung open for a dejected Rousey to make a swift exit.
Never Again…
It’s likely we’ll never see Ronda Rousey fight again. Whether you love or hate her, you can’t deny her influence on MMA. Helping pioneer the women’s division in the UFC, she now ponders retirement in her immediate future.
Reacting to Rousey’s one-sided loss at UFC 207, Dana White told FOX Sports how he felt about the fight:

After Thoughts
Win or lose, there was always a chance that Rousey would retire after UFC 207. Following such a brutal knockout, the chances of ‘Rowdy’ ever fighting again are slim to none. As for Nunes, she just punched her ticket to super stardom.
Even after the Holm loss at UFC 193, Rousey is still a massive star. Beating her in such convincing fashion will elevate ‘The Lioness’ in the media, as White described in the video above.
Hats off to Ronda Rousey for getting back in there with a beast like Amanda Nunes. That was a tough fight to watch.
Feel really bad for Rhonda but it’s her own fault for not listening to her mommy and leaving coach con artist.
