Mark Coleman

You might remember Mark Coleman as the guy who would look really impressive for the first 2-3 minutes of a fight in the early UFCs, but then would spend the remainder of his fights huffing for air and looking not unlike Kimbo and Dada 5000 looked near the end of their debacle in Bellator.

Coleman is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion however, and a Hall of Famer. He is also the first wrestler to dominate in the octagon, and he truly is a pioneer for wrestlers who transition to mixed martial arts.

Coleman was an NCAA Champion as a freestyle wrestler, and would place 7th in the 1992 Olympics. Coleman’s final MMA fight was a “Hall of Fame Fighter vs. Hall of Fame Fighter” bout against Randy Couture at UFC 109. Couture won via rear-naked choke in the 2nd round.
