3. Tap Out Victory Trumps Decision Win

They’ve fought twice and each fighter has won once, but Nate’s win was considerably more decisive than Conor’s was.

A tap out victory is a clear cut win. Perhaps a fighter can later claim that he got caught, or his opponent capitalized on one mistake, there is still no doubt about who was the winner in those cases. At UFC 202 however, there was doubt, it was only a decision victory and a case can be made that Nate won the fight. Although most people did score it for Conor.

Decision victories are based on the subjective opinion of judges, judge’s who have made some sketchy decisions in the past. But a submission victory doesn’t depend on opinions, a submission victory is a fact. Therefore Nate fans can claim that in the 2-fight series so far, Nate has the upper hand.
