Gina Carano Retired by Cyborg
Before there was Ronda Rousey, Gina Carno looked as though she would be the fighter to pioneer women’s mixed martial arts.
This fight would be the first time two women headlined an event put on by a major fight promotion, that is if you consider EliteXC to be a major fight promotion. It would be the last time for several years that women would be in the limelight of MMA.
On August 15th 2009 Cyborg took this marketable young kick boxer named Gina Carano and conclusively showed that she was no match for the more powerful, and most likely juiced up Cyborg, and beat her so badly that there is now little doubt left that she will never be back.
Since this fight Carano can be seen in movies like Deadpool, Kickboxer, and the Fast and the Furious 6, but you will never see her in the cage again.
