Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort made a quick night as he stops Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield. The fight was sad to watch as a hardcore fan, Holyfield looked slow, even got knocked down. Father time has certainly caught up with him, he is already 58 years old, he shouldn’t be fighting in a pro boxing match against a younger former UFC champion.
In the early seconds of the fight, both tried feeling out but once Belfort threw a barrage of punches, Holyfield just had no answer. Holyfield did not have the reflex he once had and the speed was a huge difference. He may have the experience but his athleticism and speed weren’t there anymore.
Meanwhile, Belfort just did not get tired of throwing those many punches since it was still in the early parts of the fight. We did not really see how good Belfort is in the boxing ring, it would be to gauge had it went to later rounds. Yes, Belfort had boxing experience but it is still hard to see how good he is right now.
Belfort managed to land an uppercut that knocked Holyfield down. Even though Holyfield immediately got back up and did not look like he was hurt, he still had no answer with Belfort’s punches and the referee was forced to stop the fight.
After the fight, Belfort called out Youtuber Jake Paul for a potential winner take all fight. Triller backed Belfort in making the super fight, the winner will get $25M initially but was later increased to $30M. Paul had a history with Triller promoter, as he had two fights with them, the Robinson and Askren fight. Paul chose to fight on the Showtime brand when he faced Tyron Woodley.
Jake Paul had no response in the call out. It seems many fighters are calling out Jake Paul, to retired UFC fighters, Tommy Fury, and now Vitor Belfort. Who could blame them? It gives them a massive payday and probably their biggest. Paul has a huge fan base that whenever he fights the PPV numbers go up. He may not be a boxing world champion right now or will ever be but in terms of money, he knows how to generate it.
Who do you think will Jake Paul fight next? He has said on record that he is willing to give Woodley a rematch if Woodley tattoos himself the “I love Jake”.
