Matt Hamill has been one of the most inspiring figures in the sport of MMA since his stint on The Ultimate Fighter Season 3.
Hamill was deaf from birth, but he did not let that stop him from being very successful in martial arts. The Hammer is a three-time NCAA Division III Wrestling National Champion. He won the silver medal in Greco-Roman Wrestling and the gold medal in Freestyle Wrestling from the 2001 Summer Deaflympics.

He represented Team Ortiz in Season 3 of “TUF” but suffered an injury and had to bow out of the tournament. He ended up winning nine out of his first 11 fights in the UFC before a string of losses in 2011. Hamill briefly retired from mixed martial arts competition in 2011, but returned just a year later.
On May 21, 2016 he faced off against fellow UFC veteran Sokoudjou at Venator FC 3. The bout lasted a mere 37 seconds into the first round. View the video on page 2.
