If Nick Diaz is only looking for big fights you can’t get much bigger than this. The size difference between the two would be a little much, but you can’t deny there is marketability to this fight. Say Conor beats Nate in the rematch, allowing Conor to start trash-talking the Diaz brothers again and that gets Nick talking again. Then you’ve got a big money fight with Conor against the older Diaz brother.
You wouldn’t be able to do this fight until 2017 at the earliest however, as Conor’s next opponent after Nate will be Jose Aldo for the Featherweight Championship.
