Alistair Overeem 2011/2016
In the space of five years Alistair Overeem has gone from a huge heavyweight back down to a somewhat swollen light-heavyweight. After failing the Nevada State drug test in 2012, Overeem’s long suspected steroid use was confirmed.
Since that time he’s steadily come back down the scale, losing his incredibly ripped physique, but has maintained a winning record. After two straight losses ‘The Reem’ put together a 5-1 UFC run before getting a shot at the title at UFC 203 (image left). Stipe Miocic KO’d Overeem in the first round.
Ronda Rousey 2015/Early 2016/Present Day
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey has never been caught with a failed drug test. That said, its fascinating to see how a fighter’s body can change over the space of 18 months.
The far left picture was before USADA ran the UFC drug testing game. Then, after her first ever loss in late 2015, the middle image went viral. Much was said about Rousey’s physique at UFC 193, as it was noticeably less toned than before.
Now, once again looking in great shape, the far right picture shows a photo captured just over a month ago. Rousey is rumoured to be returning at UFC 207 against Cris Cyborg.
