The following video gives you more of an inside look at Portal’s controversial training techniques.

As you can see Portal believes the key to being a great fighter is the ability to grab a kendo stick with your toes, and move your arms around in ways that mimic how a raver might give someone a light show.  In fact it’s entirely likely that giving light shows at raves is how Ido Portal began this kind of work.

All kidding aside, Bruce Lee would always say a fighter should “be like water”, be fluid in other words.  It does appear that Portal’s techniques are aimed at making fighters more fluid in their movements.

Even if Portal’s exercises do make Connor a better fighter, its still fun to refer to it as “touch butt with that dork in the park with a pony tail”
