Floyd Mayweather Jr. Has Accepted Khabib Nurmagamedov’s Challenge to Fight…

Well, well, well… we all know ‘Money’ loves money so it should be of no surprise that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is at the very least interested in a fight with Khabib Nurmagamedov. Both men are former opponents and conquerors of Conor McGregor, and now could be set to clash in one of the most unexpected match-ups of the decade.

Nurmagamedov is the 27-0 unbeaten UFC lightweight champion. He’s truly been a tour-de-force during his time with the UFC, as he’s brutally dominated every fighter put in front of him. Nobody has had an answer for his challenge, and everything about his game appears to get better each time he steps into the cage.

Meanwhile, Mayweather is 50-0, with his last fight coming back in 2017 when he defeated Conor McGregor in Las Vegas. That fight was heavily promoted, selling over 4 million pay-per-views and earned him over $150 million. It’s highly like that he’ll fight Manny Pacquaio again early next year, but maybe it’s Khabib time.

Call Out

Khabib appears to be deadly serious about his callout. He

Ready

This fight is highly unlikely, but we also said that about the McGregor v Mayweather fight. If the money is right then it will happen, and it’s as simple as that. Mayweather seems down and considering he’s probably broke already, it’s almost a sure thing. He wrote on Instagram:

“CBS, Showtime and MGM Grand get the checkbook out! Let’s make Las Vegas great again.”

Khabib has responded to that saying:

‘But no Vegas, they won’t pay my money.’

Well, that’s what happens when you find out your $2 million is being held back by the Nevada State Commission. Madison Square Garden will be licking their lips in anticipation. There’s no sign of the Russian getting paid yet either, even though UFC President Dana White believes he should get his money. Wait and see…

Bad Move

One man who doesn’t think that Khabib should do this is UFC heavyweight and light-heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier. He’s Khabib’s teammate and a loyal training partner. However, he recognizes Mayweather’s class and believes that this will only end one way. DC told Ariel Helwani”

“Unless he’s just going to go do it for money, because he is going to get beat. I love Khabib man but he is going to get beat up by Floyd Mayweather. He’s crazy. He is going to start wrestling. Khabib is going to start wrestling in the boxing ring. He’s going to get beat so bad he is going to start wrestling.”

He’s got a good point. And it wouldn’t be a smart move, because Mayweather would be bound to include penalty clauses in any fight contract as he did with Conor McGregor. Khabib definitely doesn’t have a chance against the best defensive boxer in the world.
