Now This is Very Interesting… It Turns Out Team Khabib WERE Responsible for the Brawl at UFC 229… New Footage Reveals They Ignited it…
This story just keeps going. Khabib Nurmagamedov defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229 to consolidate his status as the greatest active lightweight on the planet. He stretched his unbeaten record to 27-0, and put in a dominant performance, including a remarkably brutal 10-8 second round.
That’s what we should have been talking about, but no, the fight was overshadowed by a very messy brawl that took place in the aftermath. Khabib launched himself off the cage at Dillon Danis, who allegedly had said something racist about the Russian’s religion. This sparked a big scuffle, live on pay-per-view, with 2.5 million people legally watching, and millions more watching illegally.
Now new footage has revealed exactly what caused this brawl to happen. And guess what: it goes back to team Khabib. Watch below as Dillon Danis is antagonized by Khabib’s management. This is how it all started.
Footage of how the #UFC229 brawl started has emerged. It shows Dominance MMA's Rizvan Magomedov taunting Dillon Danis moments after Conor McGregor is submitted. Danis pushes him away, an act Khabib saw and prompted him to scale the cage an try dropkick him. H/T to @MIKERUSSELLMMA pic.twitter.com/aLNCGr1AwR

Ok, first of all, it’s obvious that Khabib ‘started’ the brawl by jumping feet first off the cage at Danis. But the New Yorker has been brandished a racist and accused of being responsible because of whatever he said that triggered the Russian. It turns out that Danis has been telling the truth and that Khabib’s management is to blame.
In the footage above, you can see Dominance MMA’s Rizvan Magomedov taunting Danis after McGregor was submitted. Danis shoved the Russian away, and was spotted by Khabib from the cage. That’s when ‘The Eagle’ decided to soar and attack the Bellator fighter and former Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion.
After the fight, Conor McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh made a very interesting point about Danis. He tweeted that it didn’t make sense that in a noisy arena Khabib could hear Danis shouting racist slurs that somehow weren’t picked up by microphones. He wrote:
“Even if you believe Dillon is a perpetual liar for some reason just think about it. Have you any idea how loud that arena was at that moment? Imagine how loud Dillon would have to be screaming at for Khabib to hear him? Yet no mics or anyone credible heard it? Strange eh?”
Danis might have one of the world’s most punchable faces, and sure, it gets annoying watching him pretend to be Conor McGregor, but it seems like he’s actually telling the truth and that there’s no evidence that he said anything about Islam. Did he insult Khabib? Oh yeah, probably. But both teams have been at it. It’s time to move on guys.
This new footage could also be problematic for Khabib as he tries to justify the brawl to the UFC. Now that there’s clear evidence that his team was obviously antagonizing the opposition corner, it’s not going to make them want to keep Zubaira Tukhagov’s around. It could also be used as evidence by the Nevada State Athletic Commission who still continue to hold back the Russian’s $2 million purse.
Expect to hear more about this as it continues to rumble.
