Days before the fight, UFC managed to find a replacement for Dan Hooker, who currently has an arm injury that prevents him to face Bobby Green. According to UFC CEO Dana White, taking the place of “The Hangman” for the three-round lightweight bout is Jalin Turner.
Turner volunteering to face “King” saves the event, especially since the Green-Hooker bout would be the co-main event complementing the main event fight of Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan.
In hopes of expediting the process of finding an opponent replacement, Green even challenged available fighters in his division, saying he wanted to see a “gangster” like him. Well, “gangster” will be coming from Turner.
Despite losing to Hooker at UFC 290 in July, “The Tarantula” is bravely taking the fight. Winning the bout against Green would not only bring him his first win after his recent two losses but will also redeem him from his loss to Hooker. Yet, despite his No. 11 lightweight rank status, the bout won’t be easy for Turner as Green is coming from his recent two-fight victory against Grant Dawson and Tony Ferguson.
Here is the new lineup of the event, which will be held on December 2 at Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
