Jamahal Hill’s manager, Brian Butler, is confident that the fighter will get the title shot immediately once he makes his return.

Hill is still in recovery after suffering from a torn Achilles tendon, which required surgery. Nonetheless, “Sweet Dreams” has a plan to reclaim the belt, which was stipped off him last July, giving Alex Pereira the chance to snatch it in a battle against Jiri Prochazka.

There are still no concrete details on who would be the next to challenge the new light heavyweight champ for his belt, albeit “Poatan” is consistently receiving callouts. The champ, however, only has one prominent target in mind: Israel Adesanya. After getting the belt in November, the Brazilian made repeated callouts to Adesanya, who’s currently on break, but “The Last Stylebender” remains uninterested in the matter. Then, talks about Pereira trying the heavyweight emerged, with beliefs it will be against Tom Aspinall.

While all of them could possibly happen in the future, Butler believes the most likely thing that would occur is Hill getting the shot as soon as he returns. Despite coming from an operation, the manager believes that the fighter won’t need any other additional fights to prepare him for the Pereira fight.

“No (there won’t be a warmup fight),” Butler told MMA Junkie in an interview. “He gets a title shot right away.”

Unfortunately, as to when Hill will return, Butler remains uncertain of the exact timeline. Although he supports Hill’s claim that it would be this year, the manager shared that the fighter is still recovering.

“He’s coming along well,” Butler said. “I am not a doctor and I am not in a position to speak as to how quickly he can come back, and I think it’s a little preemptive now to put any dates on that. But his goal is to come back in and around that time (of International Fight Week). But I just don’t know. But I do know he’s working hard. He’s moved to Vegas and he’s staying there to utilize the (UFC Performance Institute) and the services there with the outstanding team there that is helping him recover.”
