UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor suffered a massive setback in his mixed martial arts career at UFC 196. After a seven fight win streak that culminated in a stunning knockout of Jose Aldo at UFC 194, many believed ‘The Notorious’ was on his way to winning two consecutive UFC belts.
When the original UFC 196 opponent Rafael dos Anjos pulled out and Nate Diaz replaced him, many fans and pundits predicted an easy win for the Irishman. Things didn’t quite go as planned though.
Diaz got the massive win over McGregor and set the MMA world on fire, but it wasn’t long before the promotion reignited their epic rivalry. Just weeks later, the news leaked that Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2 would be happening at UFC 200.
UFC color commentator Joe Rogan went live with his podcast today, and here’s his crazy prediction for the proposed UFC 200 headliner.

It wasn’t long ago that most in the mixed martial arts community would have written off Nate Diaz. The second fight will see the Stockton native with a full camp, as opposed to just 11 days notice. Will this play a big role?
If he was able to outbox and then submit McGregor with less than two weeks of training camp, surely Diaz is going to dominate the Irish boxer even worse this time?
If there’s one thing we know about Nate Diaz, it’s that he’s now become a superstar. The pre-fight hype before UFC 196 was so entertaining, that he’d have been a hero regardless of the result.
As it stands, the win over ‘The Notorious’ has boosted Nate Diaz’s stock in to the stratosphere. He’s now seeing plenty of media time, while soaking up the praise he’s been denied for so many years.
Cheers to you, Nate Diaz.
