Is Edmond Tarverdyan really just a fraud?
The lead up to Ronda Rousey’s last fight as UFC women’s bantamweight champion was literally insane. The Ultimate Fighting Championship had never spent as much money or time promoting a single fighter before Rousey, and her UFC 193 bout came with all kinds of bells and whistles.
The movie-like production for the UFC 193 trailer was one of a kind, and probably will never be topped. Rousey and her next opponent Holly Holm were on a crash course, but few thought ‘Rowdy’ would be the casualty in critical condition.
Rousey’s dominant streak in the octagon and overall undefeated record had everyone mesmerised, but as is always the case, this ‘good thing’ could not last forever. Holly Holm put an end to the streak, and also everyone’s possible misconceptions about Rousey.
All of a sudden those images and GIFs of Ronda Rousey’s boxing skills looked a little different. For instance, this little clip went viral, as we all realized the UFC’s hype had blinded everyone, including Rousey.
But was it Ronda Rousey’s fault she got so schooled in the striking department? No, not really, as her confidence was clearly instilled by some fundamental flaws in her boxing ability, and who put that there?
That’s right, the greasy-looking Edmond Tarverdyan.
