After the UFC 258, Kamaru Usman sent a message to Jorge Masvidal saying that he guarantees a finish in their next encounter. Masvidal has been saying that he broke the nose of Usman and that is just 6 days notice, so he believes that a full camp can beat the champion.
In Usman’s side, Masvidal has been talking a lot of smack but said that Masvidal was offered numerous times of the fight but did not take it instead took a 6 days notice fight to step in just to have an excuse if he loses. He may be right as Masvidal’s excuse for the lose was because of the short notice.
I took your nose on 6 days. 3 weeks I take the belt. Full camp I take your head #theresurrection

As for other contenders, the UFC is looking to book Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington and the winner would face Usman. Although Usman is looking to fight Masvidal instead in the meantime due to how successful their first fight was. Masvidal is popular among the casual viewers which leads to high PPV numbers.
It has also been reported due to the negotiations fail with both side of Masvidal and Covington, Usman is in part of making the The Ultimate Fighter with Masvidal instead. It is certainly a shame since most fans were looking forward of TUF: Masvidal vs Covington.
Usman’s manager Ali also said his take on the potential rematch.
Kamaru will sit with the boss next week and will let you know what’s next. Be great full that the champ is giving you opportunity Don’t price yourself out @USMAN84kg @danawhite

Masvidal has had long talks with the UFC before about pricing himself out, although he also has a point of getting a bigger slice of the pie. The fighters deserve to have a bigger cut since they are the ones risking their health for the show.
Usman is certainly the A-side in his next fight, the only fight that makes sense for him is a rematch, whether it is Covington, Edwards or Masvidal. It just shows how dominant he is as a welterweight champion. The champion just broke GSP’s record for most consecutive wins in the division and has wins with top 1 to top 4 contenders.
A few more wins for Usman, he would be in the GOAT conversation. He only has one loss in his pro career and it was prior to joining the UFC. With an added high level jab from Usman, he looks to be a complete fighter that could rule the division for a long time.
