With a great knockout performance by the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, We will now showcase the results for the whole main card which was an overall great card given that the fighters were not really household name. It still holds a decent entertaining card.
In the co-main event, it featured the rising star Maycee Barber against a great Mexican Striker Alexa Grasso. It was overall a great scrap where Grasso got the better two rounds out of three. Grasso was coming off a win against Ji Yeon Kim and this was his second fight in the division.
Grasso showed that she was the better striker technically and even showcased decent grappling. Although Barber showed great heart as she knew that she was behind the scorecards and went on to almost finish Grasso. Barber is still young and has a lot of time to improve his game.
Kelvin Gastelum also had his comeback win after suffering three straight losses. He showed overall that he was the better fighter wherever the fight goes. His striking was better and even outwrestled Ian Heinisch.
Gastelum was potentially in a chopping block and needed the win badly, luckily he got it. It was also worth noting that Gastelum gave the current champion, Israel Adesanya his toughest beating to this date.
Ricky Simon also fought and won the fight pretty convincingly. He had Brian Kelleher hurt a lot of times but never got the finish. The fight ended in a decision where all three judges scored 30-27 which is pretty much a shutdown.
Now the main card opener was a great highlight of the event. It was a great comeback for Julian Marquez as he was in danger of getting choked but eventually got back up and ended up winning the fight. It was a great comeback win and he even won the Performance of the Night bonus.
He finished Maki Pitolo with an anaconda choke with less than a minute left of the fight which was a crazy sequence to watch live.
