The opening odds for the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou fight are now out, with the former getting -500 and +325 for the latter. The MMA fighter remains an underdog in the match, but the numbers reflect huge improvements over what he received when he faced Tyson Fury last October.

Ngannou and Joshua will fight on March 9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will be the second boxing fight “The Predator” will be taking after facing Fury last year. After this, the team considered names for his next match, with Deontay Wilder dominating the choices. However, after losing to Joseph Parker in Riyadh recently, Ngannou reconsidered his plan, and it was later confirmed that the MMA star would fight Joshua instead.

SportsBetting.ag shared the numbers, claiming Joshua has an 83% chance of coming out as the victor of the fight. This translates to a $20 return if bettors bet their $100 on the boxer. On the other hand, those who want to take the side of Ngannou with a 25% chance of winning could get $325 if they bet their $100 on the fighter.

The betting odds continue to picture Ngannou as the underdog in the game, which is logical since it is Joshua’s sports realm. Yet, as the 37-year-old noted, there’s certainty that he would still put any boxer in a “bad spot” despite being the stranger in the ring. The fighter already proved this in his bout against Fury. Despite being defeated via split decision, the fight bestowed Ngannou an impressive reputation in the boxing industry after giving the opponent a challenging bout.
