After losing in his UFC debut on short notice, Kris Moutinho gained many followers for showing tremendous heart and determination. It even got the respect of his fellow opponent Sean O’Malley for being a true warrior inside the Octagon. The fight was a short-notice replacement and many thought Sean O’ Malley would make quick nights.

It is a quick turnaround considering he just fought back on 10 July and was also brutally picked apart. He was all bloodied up in the fight as O’Malley just kept on landing at will. That night showed how Moutinho has huge potential in the sport of MMA, not many guys could take many punches from O’Malley and still walk through it.
When Moutinho got the call, he had a job so it makes sense that he was not in any way, shape, or form fully prepared to make his UFC debut. Not only that but against a young rising prospect like Sean O’ Malley.
Moutinho is set to face Aaron Phillips who is coming off a loss against Jack Shore. It will be a great fight to make as it will help gauge on what level Moutinho is right now and if whether he belongs in the UFC or not. It will be interesting to watch just how skilled he really is or is he just durable?
