UFC has announced another fight to expect this year, with Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen making the headline of the event. The UFC Fight Night is set to happen on April 6, but the venue remains unknown.

The promotion announced the bout this Wednesday, saying it is now “official.” No other details of the matter were shared, but the date matches UFC’s request with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to host an event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

This will be an interesting fight that will determine the future of the two fighters in the octagon, with Allen coming from his recent win at UFC Fight Night 232, where he defeated Paul Craig via submission. After this victory, “All In” stressed his right to be the No. 1 contender, saying he’s ready to fight anyone UFC puts in front of him. The No. 8-ranked fighter currently boasts a six-fight winning streak. Extending it to seven will certainly not only bring him upward in the UFC ranking but also open the gates for him for the title conversation.

Meanwhile, the fight could determine Vettori’s future in the middleweight title shot. Unlike his opponent, “The Italian Dream’ has alternating results in his records in his past six bouts. And while the bout will help Allen move forward the ranks, another loss to his record could soon affect Vettori’s standing in the promotion. As such, with a recent loss to Jared Cannonier in June 2023, the Italian would have to secure a win to ensure his position and, hopefully, have another chance to be a title challenger.
