Diaz stepped in as a last-minute replacement for former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 196 but because Diaz accepted the fight basically on two weeks’ notice, he did not have ample time to cut weight to make the lightweight limit.
McGregor then agreed to face Diaz at welterweight, jumping up as much as two weight divisions. Diaz ended up winning the fight by shock come-from-behind rear naked choke victory and the rest was history.

UFC fighters have been prominent in late night talk shows as of late, with Ronda Rousey and even Miesha Tate also appearing on Conan. This is Diaz’ first time on the show, so he appeared a little apprehensive.
Honestly Diaz looked like he just wanted to get it all over with and couldn’t wait to get in the cage and throw down with McGregor.
UFC 202 is scheduled for August 20, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
