Mike Tyson unleashes the fury on Floyd Mayweather, and has some words of warning for Anthony Joshua
Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has seen the staggering highs and desperate lows of being a champion. When he came to win the title against Trevor Berbick, Tyson was just 20 years old, the youngest ever to achieve the heavyweight belt.
With a bright future ahead of him, Tyson soon learned that a crown of that magnitude, at that tender age, came with a price. After losing by shock KO against Buster Douglas and the passing of Cus D’Amato, Tyson went off the rails.
Now long-retired, Tyson’s legacy remains solid, and he’s finally come out of the other side of his deep troubles.
Tyson Slams Floyd Mayweather
During a heated rant aimed at Floyd Mayweather, Tyson ripped in to the boxing great. Regarding his comments on being ‘greater than Muhammad Ali, Mayweather was tore a new one by ‘Iron Mike:’
“He is very delusional. If he was anywhere near that greatness, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself. He can’t take his kids to school by himself, he has to protect himself from the people. Greatness isn’t having to protect yourself from the people. He’s a small man, he’s a small scared man.”

Tyson had a word of warning for Anthony Joshua, but in a more positive light…
Tyson’s Warning To Joshua-Avoid Temptation
Having fell in to the many pitfalls of being a world famous youngster with reckless intentions, Tyson sends some advice Anthony Joshua’s way. Obvious similarities between the two have been mused since Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko earlier this year.
Here’s the scoop, via Boxingnewsonline.net:
“Joshua has the potential to do a lot of things,” Tyson told the BBC’s excellent boxing podcast. “He’s got the look and throws a lot of hard punches. But there is so much pressure on him. I was in Dubai and there are big posters of him there.”
“The heavyweight championship will drive people crazy, you know that right? It’s like a crown of thorns. Everyone wants to use you for something. It’s like being the President of the United States,” he said. “Joshua can’t get the big head. He has to focus on fighting. When you start focusing on money, girls or whatever it is, it’s going downhill. No religion, nothing, you can do those things when the fight is over. Let’s see if he can handle that stuff.“It’s his time. I could be wrong, I’m not the gospel of boxing but he impressed me with Klitschko.”
Joshua vs. Klitschko 2 has been green lit by the IBF, so we’ll know if the short time on top has affected the new champion at all. In all likelihood, the clean image of Joshua will stay for good.
Many boxing faces and media are tabbing Joshua to become a billionaire during his reign, and that wholesome image will certainly play a huge role.
