At the UFC Fight Night weigh-ins earlier today, Derrick Lewis decided to make a joke at Daniel Cormier’s expense. Lewis, who will face Mark Hunt tomorrow, pressed down his hands on the UFC towel, much as Cormier had done for his fight against Anthony Johnson.
While Cormier’s use of the towel was allowed by the New York Athletic Commission, Lewis’ was only in jest. After releasing the towel, he weighed in a 265lbs exactly.

In honor of Lewis’ showing in Auckland today, we thought it appropriate to look back at some of the more amusing pranks fighters have pulled at weigh-ins over the years.
We start things off with a UFC middleweight who has something of a knack for impressions:

7. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor

Tom Lawlor comes from a pro-wrestling background, and as such has put a lot of “sports entertainment” into his weigh-in performances.

His MO is to impersonate other fighters, either current or past. Take a look at some of his highlights in the video below:

Personally, I think he should adopt the Dan Severn costume as his full-time apparel. How a Tank Abbott entrance was never attempted is currently not known.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Lawlor at many weigh-ins in the near future. He was suspended 2 years for failing a USADA out-of-comeptition test last year. Lawlor is adamant that he did not take any banned substances. What make things more complicated in Lawler’s case, is that he didn’t have any supplements to test…because he doesn’t take any.

Lawlor has also claimed that he has received private emails from USADA that were intended for Robbie Lawler. Interesting in that the two do not even spell their last names the same. Makes you wonder what else USADA might have messed up in this case.
