It’s shocking that fighters still haven’t learnt after all these years…

As clichéd and overdone as the ‘cocky MMA fighter’ subject is, it still happens, and it’s still highly entertaining. Only a month ago we saw a dancing MMA fighter get head kicked in to the shadow realm.

Apparently being cocky during a fight is a resurgent trend, as we saw in Legacy Fighting Alliance 13 last night.

Another great night of regional action provided some great highlights, including a knockout of the year candidate…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 13

Dominick Reyes took on Jordan Powell in 53 seconds of pure action. Blasting Powell with some heavy punches, Reyes remained calm as his opponent began taunting him. Reyes would eventually make Powell pay for his cocky behaviour.

As Powell shook his head, smiling and beckoning for more, Reyes launched a harrowing head kick that KO’d his foe instantly.

Watch as the ‘cocky fighter gets KO’d’ moment is once again brought in to the spotlight. There’s more replays of this weekend’s knockouts and results after the video:

Meanwhile, in Russia, Bigfoot got wrecked…

Bigfoot Pounded In Russia

Having suffered eight losses in his last ten fights, Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva really needed a win in Russia. Unfortunately for the giant Brazilian, he got knocked out yet again. Facing arguably the best heavyweight outside the UFC, Vitaly Minakov, Silva was steam rolled with ease.

Minakov landed some hard shots to start the fight, and literally threw his huge opponent to the mat in the second frame. Sensing his opportunity, Minakov landed some heavy ground and pound to finish the fight in round two. Watch as Minakov brutalizes Silva for the win, remaining undefeated in the process.

Silva continues his run of terrible form, but word is the guy is making $500K just to show in Russia. Unfortunately the cost of these KO losses could be heavy in terms of CTE.
