It looks as though Nick Diaz may jump the line at 170 pounds, if Woodley has his way...

After some rumors that Nick Diaz’s comeback opponent would be Khamzat Chimaev, the manager of Diaz, Kevin Mubenga says no chance it would happen. Chimaev is one of the UFC’s most promising star due to his quick turnaround after UFC debut and then landing a one punch knockout against Gerald Meerschaert.

Mubenga thinks that even though Chimaev is a big name, he still has to work his way up for him to deserve a fight with Diaz. Chimaev may have a huge following but he still only has 3 fights in the UFC and his opponents were all unranked.

Although Dana White has gone off to say that Chimaev has the potential to be a massive star in the UFC, considering he is fighting at two weight classes and has only been hit twice in his three UFC fights.

As for Nick Diaz, when he does come back and fight it might only be a one time thing and why not give him an opponent that would be a better match for him. Diaz is probably out of his prime, has not won since 2011, and if you throw him with a young hungry lion, it would be a disaster.

At least for now, we are sure that Khamzat Chimaev will not be his next opponent despite Khamzat calling him out in social media. There are a lot of old veterans that deserve to fight Diaz but it still depends on who Diaz wants.
