Khabib Becoming Champion
In 2015 while he was still busy getting ready for a featherweight title fight with Jose Aldo, a fan asked Conor McGregor to predict who would be the next champion at lightweight.
At the time Rafael dos Anjos was champion, but McGregor foresaw another star rising up to the top of the heap at 155lbs.
“I think Khabib [Nurmagomedov] will get the lightbelt belt,” McGregor stated.
Nurmagomedov was on a six-fight winning streak in the UFC at the time, but as it turned out it wouldn’t be until 2018 that he finally did prove McGregor right, by which point his unbeaten Octagon run had extended to 10 fights.
