Nick Diaz Tells Colby Covington: “Come at Me Bro”

By Dazzler

Nick Diaz Doesn’t Know Who Colby Covington is… But That Won’t Stop Him Taking His Fellow Californian Down if They Cross Paths in the Future…

Nick Diaz hasn’t fought for four years now. That’s incredible really. The last time he stepped into a cage was in that disastrous no-contest fight against Anderson Silva. The Brazilian was popped for PEDs, while Diaz was cited after testing positive for marijuana use.

Since then he’s seen out a lengthy ban but has had no clear desire to return to the octagon. There’s been talk about it, but the closest he’s got to a fight was watching his younger brother come out of his own hiatus at UFC Anaheim. Nate gave Anthony Pettis a proper beatdown.

One man who has taken aim at both brothers in the past is everybody’s least favourite welterweight, Colby Covington. Now Diaz has fired shots at the controversial man from Clovis and said that he’s ready for him right here and now.

Ready

Diaz and his crew from Stockton, California are known for their brand of street honour. They’re extremely loyal to each other and when one of them goes to war, they all go to war. Colby Covington should probably stay out of that part of the world then.

“I’m not gonna sit here and call the man a liar. I never heard about it, I just found out,” Diaz told TMZ Sports in a recent interview. “If you wanna fight, you know where to find me. I’m not a hard guy to find. Step in my motherf**king range right here. Come at me, bro.”

Keep it Real

One of the biggest criticisms about Covington is that he’s presenting a fake persona. The Skrap Pack are as real as it gets. If you trash talk them, you better be prepared for the consequences. That’s the situation Covington could find himself in if he ever goes near the 209. For his part, the elder Diaz says he’s not entirely sure who ‘Chaos’ is. We believe him. He smokes so much, he’s got his own little world going on.

“I don’t know who that is,” Diaz told reporters during a UFC 241 post-fight media scrum. “If we got somebody good to fight, that’s who I want to fight. That’s what I’m saying. You’ve got to do something. If you’ve been here for two weeks and get a little hype show, I don’t give a sh*t.”

Fight Time

While we might never see Nick fight again, Nate is finally active once more. After beating Anthony Pettis in style, he called out Jorge Masvidal. They’ve confirmed that fight is in the negotiation stage but there’s a long way to go before a deal is done. It would definitely be one of the most anticipated of the year if it happens.

Meanwhile, Covington – despite being a human virus – is pushing for a title shot against Kamaru Usman. To be fair to ‘Chaos’ he has earned the fight and the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ needs to sign some paper soon before fans accuse him of running.
